Lukla Air Bridge Official Rules
The Imagination
First off, this is a competition. You are allowed to do ANYTHING that is not specifically prohibited by the rules listed below or by IVAO rules and regulations. Creativity and intelligence are encouraged for this event. As a few examples: what cargo you choose to haul is your decision, how you choose to haul your cargo is your decision, and whoever may be working with you as a team is your decision.
Using your imagination and creative skills will get you ahead in this event, but just as you have an imagination, so do the controllers...and events staff. Use your skills wisely.

- Cargo must be delivered to Lukla Airport. The delivery method is up to you.
- Lukla does not have fuel service. You must carry enough fuel for a return trip. Should you decide that some of your cargo is fuel, it may either be delivered as cargo (counts towards to your total delivered cargo) or delivered and stored for your own use later (does not count towards total cargo delivered). All fuel must originate from Kathmandu.
- If you run out of fuel, you will need to find a way to get fuel such as from another pilot...but it may cost you. Trading between pilots (goods for fuel, etc) is allowed but must be reported to ramp control for accounting.
- All flight plans should be filed as VFR, however, you MUST be in contact with ATC at all times. We need to track your flights for the purposes of following the event guidelines.
The Penalties
- Crashes
- If you crash prior to delivering your cargo, you lose whatever is on board. You must start again from Kathmandu.
- If you crash after delivering your cargo, you will start again from Phaplu (VNPL) and incur a 15 minute penalty.
- Lukla Slots
- If you miss your Lukla arrival slot by +/-5 minutes, you will be put into a holding pattern until a new slot is available. There is no penalty other than time lost and fuel wasted.
