Brazilian
Division Procedures
The
Brazilian airspace have 5 (five) Flight Information Regions, where one of these
is Oceanic FIR (SBAO -
Atlantico FIR). In real life, this Oceanic FIR
have the ATC Operation into Recife FIR (SBRE) building. The others FIR are: Curitiba FIR (SBCW), Brasilia FIR (SBBS), Recife FIR (SBRE) and Amazonica FIR (SBAZ).
All
airspace is RVSM, we
apply the east/odd-west/even system.
Portuguese Phraseology is basically used (for
International Airports/TMA + Area Control Centers, the English is Provided).
UNICOM 122.80MHz (text mandatory); Voice (UNICOM) on br1.ts.ivao.aero.
1. Brazilian
Aispace Classification
Class A - All airways of upper altitude and all CTA at FL150 or
above.
Class C - Some TMAÕs, according Area Charts, and CTAÕs, according
Enroute Charts.
Class D - Some low airways down to FL150 until minimum level of
the airway, TMAÕs until FL145 and CTRÕs, according Area Charts and Enroute
Charts.
Class E - Some TMAÕs, like Goiania TMA.
Class G - All remaining airspace. A clearance is not required
for VFR flights within Class E airspace, however pilots are strongly advised to
contact the appropriate ACC.

SBAZ – Amaz™nico FIR:
1. NOTAMÕs:
Aircrafts flying in Amaz™nica FIR class G airspace
under visual flight rules (VFR) are allowed, if needed, to request ATS service
from Amazonico Center and might have to follow flow regulation procedures. The
aircrafts under VFR rules must not transmit AFIL flight plan to Amazonico
Center and must send its flight plan before takeoff. The aircrafts flying in
Amazonica FIR under instrument flight rules (IFR) must not fly in a class G
airspace below FL100, except during departure and arrival procedures.
2. Preferential Routes:
(Z0032/2008)
Flights from SBGR or SBGL with destination to KMIA,
KORD, KATL, SVMI and KJFK that intend to fly in Amazonica FIR airspace via
routes UZ23 and UL304 should use the following preferencial routes:

(J0402/2008)
2. Special Procedures - S‹o Paulo TMA:
-
In this TMA for fixed wing visual flights we use a special chart to fly
inside this area. This chart can be found on page 11 inside the AIC 22/07 (http://www.aisweb.aer.mil.br/aisweb_files/publicacoes/aic_n/aic_2007_n22.pdf).
In this chart we have a map containing all the visual references that shall be
reported to S‹o Paulo Approach when flying in these routes, the VFR flight out
of these routes, except for procedures or when cleared by the approach is
forbidden, a remark must be filled in field 18 of the FPL with the routes the
pilot wants to use e.g.: RMK/REA JULIETT ECHO MIKE. As these references arenÕt
present in MSFS2004 there is a custom scenery that can be downloaded in www.tmasaopaulo.com inside
ŅDownloads/Cen‡riosÓ which contains some giant yellow cones placed in the
visual reference position, the filename is ŅReferncias Visuais TMA XPÓ and has
no framerate impact in the simulator.
-
Still for S‹o Paulo TMA, helicopters have special routes like planes do,
they can be found on the same www.tmasaopaulo.com
page, but in the ŅDownloads/DocumentosÓ section and it is called ŅManual de
Opera¨›es VFR sobre a TMA/CTR S‹o PauloÓ. On page 31 we have the visual
helicopters flight chart and this shall be used when flying inside the CTR S‹o
Paulo, the RMK/REH SP is mandatory and the pilot must say intentions to ATC
when entering or exiting a route by saying routeÕs name to ATC. Most of the
times the references are not present in MSFS2004 so the recommended scenery can
be downloaded on the same section of the fixed wing aircraft scenery and its
filename is ŅSAO 2005Ó.

aircraft), this may allow traffic as follows: pass a transponder, runway in use
and send the traffic to the UNICOM (122.80 MHz), for ground coordination,
requesting that it return to the frequency of the ACC after takeoff. In such
cases, the aircraft on arrival to the airfield should be directed to the UNICOM
